Whats New?

Not much going on down here in the Lone Star state. Weathers been a little iffy but I can't complain since I know whats going on back home. Danielle's job is going great and I have been working at Thundercloud Subs which is a hip local sub shop. I also volunteered at the gallery Arthouse in downtown. I got to network with some of the visitors and artist, plus shoot photos of the event. It was a lot of fun here's a link to the photos I took, look I got photo credit! Arthouse blog. Christmas and New Years Post

Sorry it took us so long to make a new post everyone.

Weekend before Christmas.

Danielle in the great outdoors of Barton Creek.

Found some water and it was crystal clear.

Austin is so pretty at night.
After playing Frisbee, listening to Christmas music coming from the city.

Chillin out on our beautiful Christmas Eve. I think it was like 70 out.

I get into Frisbee look at the determination in my eye. Eyes on the prize.

Danielle and our new pet.

This Giraffe was bucking hard. It eventually threw me off but I think I had the upper hand.

Danielle posing with the gifts, way too early for photos.

Me posing with the presents. I just woke up too so leave me alone.

Once again Danielle made a tasty meal for the two of us.

Our Christmas tree after we put all of our new ornaments on it.

The Oasis is a tasty restaurant in the Lake Travis area that is built on the side of a cliff next to the lake. Makes for a really cool dinning experience. Plus as expensive as it looks we found some pretty cheap very good food with a beautiful veiw.

This is looking up at a house on a cliff side in the Lake Travis area.

Back to the green belt.

I guess when there was water here someone lost there swim shoe. At least if they come back they can still get it.

I've become one with nature.

Too bad we didn't have this before Christmas.

Yeah Texas is in a huge drought right now. This use to be a swimming hole but is now just a pile of dangerous rocks.

Its hard to see but this rock is like chalk and I was able to carve a heart with our names in it with a stick.

Glow sticks and light sabers make for great swirly pictures.
New Years Eve in Zilker Park.

This was the start of New Years Eve. We went to First Night which is a family event where bands play and this year the burning of a 34 foot clock tower.

The Burning Clock, click the link to watch a closer video of it.

This picture is of three masked people. They where standing next to the fire but moved when it started getting hot.

After a few minutes of burning, the hot ash went into the air and then back down onto everyone. I feel bad for that camera man in the Cherry Picker.

6th Street was hoping that night. Music, people and enough police to arrest every person in Austin.

New Years Ball at Pure Ultra Lounge. Too bad we didn't stay for the count down. Our legs were hurting so bad since we walked everywhere.

New Years Day!!!

We found this nice waterfall spot in Barton Creek but of course someone had to sit right next to us. So we left to go find a more secluded area.

Scary, Scary!!

Weird vegetation that you wont ever see on the East Coast.

Look at that hottie!

Snack time! (delicious muffins, thanks Kristi!!)

Can't wait to go tubing down this!

(Josh posted this blog without videos we've made.. for some reason it's hard getting them off of my camera so hopefully soon we'll get a few up!)

update soon!

We know we owe you all a HUGE update! We have photos from more outside hikes and adventures, Christmas, New Years & LOTS more. Hopefully by the end of the weekend we'll have them all up.

We've been keeping ourselves pretty busy. I finally got a job! I'm the new receptionist for the Art Institute of Austin. Good pay, great benefits, etc. It's definitely making this feel more worth it. (Besides all of the other great things we've been doing & experiencing) We're loving Austin more & more and we're definitely glad we decided to take the risk.

We also hope you guys come visit soon so we can show you around & have you see what we love about it so much! ;) We'll post our pictures soon! (i think i have over 120 on my camera now between photos & videos)

xoxo,

Danielle & Josh
