Juli comes to Austin!

I figure since I'm here, not working this week, I should get on the photo/story blog about when Juli came to visit. It's about time, huh?!
We had many many more photos but here are our highlights!

Feb. 11-16 2009

Juli's flight was super delayed so she didn't end up in Austin until 1130pm Feb 11th.

Thurs, Feb 12th

The first thing we did was dance the morning away.

Then we went for a walk to Congress & meet Josh at work.

The hell highway, I35

("When you see my face hope it gives you hell, hope it gives you hell")

Sage Creek & Live Oak

Then we went into New Bohemia.
This is a really fun retro clothing store.
We spent maybe a 1/2 hr here looking at everything.

Juli's new prom dress, one of many.

I still need to go into Allen's Boots!

Uncommon Objects.
An antique store you can literally get lost in.

Then we realized we were taking too much time because Josh was about to be done work.

Beautiful weather, beautiful city, beautiful girl ;)

We picked up Josh, he made us some subs & we had a picnic at Zilker Park.

Ahh and the view is so pretty!
This is one of many places Josh & I go to to play frisbee.

We made it to Mount Bonnell later that day.
We had to show Juli our most relaxing hang out.
Time to walk up the 100 stairs!

Well worth the walk to the gorgeous view.

My BFF's.

Unfortunately, these websites take away from the color on these photos a LOT, but you get the idea.

Joshcam.

We could sit here for hours..

The view of the city from the other side.

I love when people offer to take a photo for us.

AMAZING.

Has anyone every seen peacocks in the road before?! This was so bizarre to us. There were 3 of them just hanging out in the road, until one brave driver got out and shooed them away, haha.

Juli's eating BBQ!

After Mount Bonnell we decided to enjoy a feast at Iron Works,
the BEST BBQ in Austin
(that I've tried so far)

Then off for dessert at Hey Cupcake! The Michael Jackson is still my favorite. Nothing is better that a cupcake vendor on the side of the road!

Friday, Feb 13th

Juli & I on our way to Central Market to get supplies for lasagna.
This is one of the funnest stores to go grocery shopping.
(aside from Whole Foods, that is)

City in the distance on our way home.

After Josh got off work, we took a bus into downtown & had lunch at Hickory Street.

("When you walk my way, hope it gives you hell, hope it gives you hell")

Juli & Josh under Congress Bridge, where the bats sleep.

Chillin on our dock!

Sunset- Standing on Congress Bridge.

How is she so much taller than me?!

Sat, Feb 14th
We made Valentine's Day Brownies!
Unfortunately, this was basically all we did all day.
It was ugly & rainy out so we had a hang in day.

Sunday, Feb 15th

Hooray, a walk in the woods!

Hanging out at the dried up Twin Falls.
(The Twin Falls link has a photo of the falls when there is actually water flowing through)

This was pretty wacky walk in the woods.

And Josh, like always, climbed up the rock to explore a cave.

Juli was afraid he was going to fall down & she wanted nothing to do with it.
"I will not be a witness to this!"

Being in the woods brings out your wild side.

Video taping.

Juli & I sitting on the "picnic table"

Cooling down at Austin Java.
Nothing is better than an ice cold beer after a long walk.
(Juli had an iced coffee!)
One thing I love love love about it here is all of the outside seating most of the food & drink places have. The atmosphere is amazing.

This is pretty much the end of our last day.
I look like a nerd but Josh looks pretty much perfect so I had to post it!

Sadly, Juli left around 8am Monday, Feb 16th and I have missed her so much ever since! I love you, thank you so much for coming to Austin. I'm glad you had fun & loved it so much!

xoxo,

Danielle
